Setting up Custom Links

Setting up Custom Links

In Trade Trak, you can set up custom links from URL's so that you can quickly access frequently visited pages or search filters directly from the top menu.

Creating a New Custom Link

To create a new Custom Link, first head to the page or set up the filter you wish to create a quick link to.

For example, if you want to create a link to take you to a page that shows all of your overdue invoices, you would head to the Invoices page from the top menu, select 'Show Filters' and change Filter Overdue to Show Overdue and click 'Apply'. This will then make the invoice list only show overdue invoices.

After you have gone to the page or set up the filter you wish as outlined above, highlight the URL from your website browser search bar and Copy or Cut it.

Once you have copied the URL, click on your Profile Picture in the top right hand corner of the page to bring up the dropdown menu.

On this menu, select 'Custom Links' and  you will be redirected to the Custom Links page.

Setting up custom links 2

To create the new link, from the Custom Links page click the button that says 'New Link'. This will bring up a new box with three sections:

  • Name field
  • Link field
  • Share Link with Company tickbox

In the Name Field, you can name the link whatever you would like. This name will appear in the Custom Links menu.

In the Link field, paste the URL of the chosen page or filter to create the custom link.

Finally, you can either leave the Share Link with Company tickbox blank if you want your user profile to be the only member with access to the specific quick link, or you can tick it if you would like it to be available to multiple users on your account. If this box is ticked, you will see another field called 'Visible to User Groups'. You can customise whether you want the custom link to be available to all users or only certain user groups here by either adding them from the dropdown list or clicking the X to remove them.

Finally, click 'Add' and your Custom Link will have been created.

Once you have created your Custom Link, you will be able to find it on the top menu under 'Links'. Selecting it will then automatically take you to the chosen page or previously created filter so you don't have to waste any time navigating there manually every time.

Managing your Custom Links

On the Custom Links page, you can manage all of your previously created Custom Links. From here, you can see:

  • Custom Link Order
  • Custom Link Name
  • The URL Link
  • and the users the link is available to.

You can rearrange the order of your links by dragging the 6 dots to the left of the name up and down and dropping it. You can also select multiple links at once by checking the blank box to the left of the name of the desired links you wish to select.

If you click on the three dots to the right of the respective link, you can Edit or Delete the chosen link.
