Sub-Jobs and Projects

Sub-jobs have their own quotes and invoices, SWMS, reports and different users, while being easily accessible under the one project. They’re designed to help you to better manage projects such as:
- Multi unit developments
- Stages of a projects (e.g. rough in and fit off)
- Managing a build with different subcontractors
- Recurring maintenance jobs for one client
Files can be shared to an entire project or to individual sub-jobs, you can learn about this here.
Accessing Project and Sub-Job Options
The ‘Create Project’ on the Details page contains all of the options for creating sub-jobs and projects. If your job is already a sub-job or project, it will not show this button.
When you click on ‘Create Project’, a pop-up will appear with three options:
- Move to project
- Create new project
- Add Sub-Job
Move to Project
If you have a pre-existing job that you’d like to add as a sub-job to a project, press ‘Move to Project’.
Then, select which job you would like to be the project for this sub-job from a drop-down menu, and click ‘Add to selected job’. If the job you select isn’t yet a project, it will be converted for you.
Once the job has been converted to a sub-job, you will notice the project’s name at the start of the sub-jobs title, and in the description on the Details page.
Create New Project
If you have a pre-existing job that you’d like to add as a sub-job to a new project, press ‘Create New Project’.
A Create a Job popup will appear. You can read how to create a job here.
Note: If you create a job to become a project through this screen, you will still be charged one job credit.
Add Sub-Job
By clicking this button, you will create a new sub-job and your current job will become a project.
The job creation process is the same as for ‘Create New Project’, and also costs one job credit.
Viewing Sub-Jobs and Projects
From your jobs list, it’s easy to tell which jobs are projects at a glance, as they’ll have this icon next to the name:
Sub-jobs are also easy to differentiate from other jobs, as they begin with the project’s name, as in the screenshot below.
